George Agar Trevor Benson

George Agar Trevor Benson was killed in action on the 28th of October 1916 while serving on the Somme with the 2nd Battalion Middlesex Regiment.

He had previously been wounded in May 1916 and for his gallantry during a raid on the enemy’s trenches he was awarded the Military Cross.

George’s father was Chaplain at the School of St Mary’s and St Anne’s.
