On 28th April 1917. Pte David Fowell no 12377 of the 8th Battalion Lincolnshire Regt was killed in action in France – age 24.
David was the younger brother of Arthur Fowell who died of wounds on 28th September 1915, both of these boys served with the Lincs Regt.
David Fowell was born in 1893 to William and Lucy Fowell nee Rock who lived in Bagot Street. David alongside his brothers enlisted with the colours in Burton on Trent …in September 1914.
Pte David Fowell’s name appears on Bay 4 Arras Memorial.
Both David and Arthur danced in the September 1915 Horn Dance in their Khaki uniform.
