Charles T Preedy was born in 1892 and served with the Durham Light Infantry. Charles sadly lost his life on the 30th of July 1915 from wounds received while training in England. Remembering the boys and men who went to war from the village and sadly never returned. These smiling men in this photo were some of the first to join up in September 1914, little did they know what lay ahead.
